I know im saying this late but i have had this for 4 years and i have a darker skin i started licking around my lips and it started to become darker around my lips until it like reached the max and i have gotten around 12 creams to fix this around my mouth its itching sometimes burns gets dry and it gets dry it gets a small like layer around my mouth like red layer and i peel it off and i can peel it back and over and over like a cycle so thats the cycle of my lips i rly want to fix this since this is happening i have hidden my mouth for 4 years to not get laughed at as a teenager

Is there a topical antifungal cream specifically for fungal acne around the lips? My daughter has this, and we've been putting vaseline on it. Gets a little better, but it doesn't heal. As soon as she doesn't put vaseline, it gets worse 😢

In theory, if it is being treated by a dermatologist with antifungals(oral or topical or both) once the breakout is gone and you’ve been clear for a few weeks, taking care to balance your body’s natural flora, etc, you should be able to use your old products. It would be something that in theory is cured (though it’s difficult). I will experiment 🙌🏻 once I start clearing up we’ll see what happens. If the skin microbiome is balanced again you shouldn’t get more Malassezia breakouts. The key is to keep it balanced because this yeast grows on your skin naturally. It was there to begin with. However, whatever happened (in my case antibiotics) is probably going to play a big part in this. I’ll update this comment in a few weeks for anyone who is interested in finding out lol 👌

This is for anyone: in winter you are in your house more, with dust/dander. You are touching your face mult times a day, and making it worse! You don't realize you are rubbing the flare up! You must train yourself to stop touching your face. Vacuum couch more often. Wash pillows/pillow cases more often in hot water. Train yourself to stop touching yor face. It itches, you rub, it leads to more irritation. It itches more, you rub, it flares more. It's a big cycle over and over....and you don't realize you have touched your face maybe a hundred times a day.

All good intentions, but I’m confused as to why your target list has an abundance of benzoyl peroxide actives, as these are traditionally anti-ACNE treatments. Fungal acne isn’t acne at all so the same actives that are effective for acne (due to bacteria and sebum) aren’t effective for treating this overgrowth issue (caused by malassezia yeast) . Benzoyl peroxide has potential to even worsen the condition, and as far as I know the primary actives that assist in keeping this condition at bay are Ketoconazole, Zinc pyrithione, sulfur, salicylic acid, and niacinamide.

The rash you had was a very clear allergic reaction and I bet it cleared after you started eliminating products because you accidentally binned your allergen! chelitis is usually caused by allergens such as vanilla, cinnamon, lipsticks and toothpastes. I eliminated all my allergens and I still have this issue! :( thought I must say, stopping tea has helped me the most.
